2026 Armco CU Scholarship Winners

Armco CU is pleased to award $20,000 in scholarships to 20 students entering their freshmen year of college in the fall. Twenty students received $1,000. The students were selected based on academic, leadership and extracurricular achievement.  Students attending college as well as vocational schools were eligible.  Armco CU has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships since 2018. Andrew John Balint

Andrew Balint

Andrew Balint is a graduate of Deer Lakes High School. He will attend Duquesne University where he will be part of Honors College and double major in Finance and Economics. Throughout his high school career, he participated in several sports and activities including holding the office of Treasurer with Student Council, National Honors Society, and Model UN. As an athlete, Andrew participated in both Cross Country (Captain) and Volleyball for four years, earning several varsity letters. He played the alto saxophone in Concert Band. Andrew also actively volunteers at the American Legion Post 593 in West Deer.

Riley Carrel

Riley Carrel

Riley Carrel is a graduate of Mars Area High School and will attend Bowling Green State University as a member of the Honors College, where she plans to pursue a degree in nursing. She will also join the Falcons Cheerleading team.

In high school, Riley was a four-year member of Varsity Cheerleading and Track & Field as well as an active participant in the school musical and fall play. She served as President of Best Buddies and was involved in National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Future Women in Healthcare, Student Council and Class Council.

Riley is dedicated to service, volunteering extensively and serving as a youth cheer coach for five years. She also balances part-time work during the school year and summers as a lifeguard.

Riley looks forward to continuing her involvement on campus while making a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Alyssa Cornell

Alyssa Cornell

Alyssa Cornell is a graduate of Butler Senior High School. She will attend the West Penn School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. In high school, Alyssa participated in a variety of sports including lacrosse, basketball and track. She was also involved with Best Buddies, Latin Club, and ski club. Passionate about helping others, Alyssa volunteered with both the Junior Auxiliary at Butler Memorial Hospital and Greater Pittsburgh Food Pantry. She plans to become a registered nurse and aspires to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with friends.
Anna Crawford

Anna Crawford

Anna Crawford is a graduate of Karns City High School and will attend Butler County Community College for nursing. She also completed the Health Assistant program at Butler County Area Vocational‑Technical School to prepare for working in the medical field. Anna is an active member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Student Council, and SkillsUSA. Her biggest inspiration for becoming a nurse is her mom, a registered nurse, who taught her the difference compassion can make and inspired her to work hard. Anna plans to further her education by ultimately pursuing a doctoral degree. She is committed to building on her experiences, growing both personally and professionally, while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Hanna Dailey

Hanna Dailey

Hanna Dailey is a graduate of Karns City High School. She will attend Shenandoah University to major in nursing. In high school, Hanna was involved in Soccer, Basketball, Student Council, National Honor Society, Peer Leadership, Believers in Christ Club, and the Spanish Club. She works at Quality Life Services in Chicora as a Certified Nursing Assistant and she also works at the Tasty-T-Freeze as an Ice Cream Server.
Olivia Flanigan

Olivia Flanigan

Olivia Flanigan is a graduate of Butler Area Senior High and will major in Nursing at Butler County Community College. In high school, she took Honors, AP and College courses while balancing extracurricular activities. She was an active member of both the varsity game squad and competition cheer squad, and two-time state champion with the varsity coed team. Olivia has balanced multiple part-time jobs while dedicating time to volunteering in her community. Looking ahead, Olivia plans to further her education at West Virginia University to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and continue her career in healthcare.
Lila Fox

Lila Fox

Lila Fox is a graduate of Lincoln High School. She will attend South College Pittsburgh to earn a degree in radiography.

In high school, Lila was the drum major of the Lincoln Marching Blue Band and an active member of National Honor Society. Throughout high school, she always wanted to make a difference in her community. Her passion for healthcare comes from her mom and her 10th grade anatomy teacher.

Allison Godot

Allison Godot

Allison Godot is a graduate of Knoch High School and will attend Grove City College to major in chemistry. In high school, she was highly involved in orchestra, volleyball and track and field. As part of the Chambers String ensemble, she had the privilege of serving as concertmaster and performing in PMEA district and region events. She also plays in the pit orchestra for the school’s musicals. Allison was secretary of the Friends of Rachel Club and a member of the National Honor Society. As a 300-meter hurdler, her time is currently ranked 8th in Knoch’s all-time top 10 records. In addition to school activities, she volunteers in the community and church, attends youth group regularly and works at Ambrose Farm Market as a supervisor and cashier. Ultimately, her goal is to use her knowledge of chemistry for the betterment of others.
Ava Girdwood

Ava Girdwood

Ava Girdwood is a graduate of Mars Area High School and will attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville to study marketing. In high school, she was involved in the National Honor Society, Student Council, Varsity Club, Spanish Club, Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Enrichment Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Key Club. She also played Varsity Girls Soccer and club soccer at Northern Steel. Ava tutors 6th graders and helps to coach soccer camps.
Kaden Kozik

Kaden Kozik

Kaden Kozik is a graduate of Butler Area Senior High School and will attend Grove City College majoring in English with a minor in Pre-Law Studies. While in high school, Kaden performed with the Butler Golden Tornado Marching Band and Tornado Big Band, held the roles of Class Secretary and Secretary of Butler’s Best Buddies Club, was a member of National Honor Society, the Varsity Mock Trial Team, and played inline hockey for Butler Inline Hockey Association. He works part-time at a local law firm, volunteers at his church, and helps coach elementary school hockey teams. Kaden plans to attend law school after college.
Grace McCarty

Grace McCarty

Grace McCarty is a graduate of Mars Area High School and will attend the University of Pittsburgh to major in biological sciences on a pre-optometry track. In high school, she was a member of National Honor Society, Student Council and German National Honor Society. Grace was elected Vice President of her school’s German Club and team captain of the Mars Girls Tennis Team. Along with volunteer work she does within clubs at her school, she volunteers with her church organization, Walking with Moms in Need, as well as teaching children tennis lessons over the summer. Grace hopes to continue giving back to the community throughout her time at the university.

Bailee McCray is a graduate of Corry Area High School. She will attend The Pennsylvania State University to major in biology and prepare for medical school. In high school, she successfully balanced a job while maintaining her academic responsibilities. She was also active in her community, volunteering her time to support local animal shelters. Her long-term goal is to become a dermatologist.
Sydney Mineo

Sydney Mineo

Sydney Mineo is a graduate of Corry Area High School and will attend Penn State University Park majoring in biobehavioral health. Her goal is to attend PA school to become a physician assistant. In high school, she was involved in National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She was a student mentor, student ambassador, and member of Safe Line, a mental health awareness group in her school. In addition, she plays volleyball and softball and enjoys skiing in her free time.
Kamdyn Moon

Kamdyn Moon

Kamdyn Moon is a graduate of Corry Area High School and will attend Penn State Behrend as part of the Aerospace Engineering 2+2 program. In high school, he built a strong reputation both academically and athletically. A multi-sport athlete, Kamdyn competes in golf (3-year letterman and 3-year captain), basketball (4-year letterman and 2-year captain), and baseball (4-year letterman and 2-year captain), demonstrating discipline, teamwork, and a competitive drive across every season. Kamdyn was also a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, a Student Ambassador and Mentor and a College Board National Recognition Awardee. He works as an Intern Design Engineer at Corry Manufacturing Company and a PIAA Junior Official. With a clear vision for his future, Kamdyn is committed to becoming part of the next generation of aerospace engineers—working to advance technology and contribute to innovations that help keep the country safer.
Bayliee Payne

Bayliee Payne

Bayliee Payne is a graduate of Butler Area Senior High School and will attend Butler County Community College to major in nursing. She plans to become a nurse practitioner and continue her athletic career on the Pioneer Volleyball team. In high school, Bayliee was a member of the Butler Varsity Volleyball team, the Unified Bocce team, and the Unified Track and Field team. Aside from athletics, she was an officer for Butler Best Buddies and Medical Careers Club, as well as a member of National Honor Society, French Club and Environmental Club. Bayliee served as ambassador of the Stepping Forward for Down Syndrome campaign. She works part-time as a nursing assistant at Concordia and part-time as a server at Texas Roadhouse. Bayliee has volunteered countless hours with the Salvation Army and through Breakthrough-Butler’s sports programs.
Leah Radwanski

Leah Radwanski

Leah Radwasnki is a graduate of Butler Area High School. She also graduated from the Health Assistant program at the Butler County Area Vocational Technical School. Leah will attend Butler County Community College (BC3) for nursing.

During her senior year, Leah completed classes at BC3, which included general studies such as English, writing, and economics. She received college credits for these classes which was very beneficial in getting accepted into the RN program. Leah was also a SkillsUSA member and competitor. She competed in Job Interview, two years in a row and attended the state competition her first year.

Autumn Sitler

Autumn Sitler

Autumn Sitler was the valedictorian at Trinity High School. She will attend The Pennsylvania State University to major in chemical engineering. At Trinity, Autumn was involved in many school activities, serving as President of German Club and participating in Future Business Leaders of America, Math League, Student Council and Investment Club. She is committed to community service, volunteering with Casey’s Clubhouse, a special needs baseball league, and helping with her school’s student council food pantry. Outside the classroom, Autumn played competitive ice hockey for 14 years. She also enjoys watching sports, working out and working at Starbucks. She loves chemistry and calculus and is excited to pursue her passion for chemical engineering through Penn State’s Women in Engineering program.
Laini Spohn

Laini Spohn

Laini Spohn is a graduate of Butler Area Senior High School. She will attend Butler County Community College for nursing. In her free time, she enjoys reading and playing tennis. With a strong passion for the sport, she also serves as a student volunteer coach for the boys’ tennis team. Laini is employed part-time at Ace Hardware. Her career goal is to obtain her master’s degree in nursing and specialize in oncology.
Braylynn Thompson

Braylynn Thompson

Braylynn Thompson is a graduate of Karns City High School and will attend Grove City College to major in nursing. In high school, Braylynn was involved in cheer, Gremlinettes, softball, student council, Believers in Christ Club, and drama club. She works at the Chicora Medical Center, Full Out TC, and volunteers at her church. Braylynn enjoys traveling, reading, helping others, and hanging out with friends and family.
Addyson Traggiai

Addyson Traggiai

Addyson Traggiai is a graduate of Butler Area Senior High School. She will attend Robert Morris University to major in actuarial science and compete on the Division 1 woman’s rowing team. While in high school, Addyson was secretary of National Honor Society, treasurer of German National Honor Society, Ski Club and Best Buddies. She played girls varsity soccer and was captain of the swimming and lacrosse teams. Addyson was a Triathlete award winner for lettering in 3 sports and named Triathlete of the year. She works as a lifeguard/supervisor at Alameda Water Park. Addyson is an avid reader and loves riding in side-by-sides.

2026 Beaver Valley Chapter of Credit Unions Winners

Armco Credit Union would like to congratulate Brook Ellis for receiving a $500 scholarship from the Beaver Valley Chapter of Credit Unions!

Brook is one of five recipients to receive a scholarship from the Beaver Valley Chapter of Credit Unions. As a member of Armco Credit Union, she was eligible to apply for the scholarship. Brook will graduate from Butler Area Senior High School this year.

Alyssa Cornell

Brook Ellis is a graduate of Butler Area High School and will attend Penn State to major in political science. In high school, she was elected Class of 2026 President and served as Vice President of the National Honor Society. Brook works as an intern at Outside Virtual Counsel and also holds a part-time position at Walmart. Brook intends to attend law school and pursue a career as an attorney. She hopes to use her law profession to give back to the community.
