As a member of Armco CU, you are also a shareholder. Attend our Annual Meeting and review our 2023 performance, vote on Board of Directors and Committee positions, make suggestions, ask questions and win prizes!

Each member or designated individual on a business account is entitled to vote at this meeting to elect Board of Directors, Credit Committee and Supervisory Committee members.

Voting will continue on the following day at all Credit Union locations during regular business hours.

This Year’s Candidate Information

Board of Directors

(3 to be elected – 3 candidates with most votes will serve full terms to April, 2027)

Lori E. Altman (incumbent) Lori has worked for the County of Butler since 1997 as the Human Resources Director & Chief Clerk and has over 35 years’ experience in Human Resources. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Professional Studies from Duquesne University’s School of Leadership & Professional Advancement. She has completed numerous courses in Human Resources and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and holds the Professional Human Resource Certification. In addition, she has participated in Leadership Butler County, is President of the County’s Society for Human Resources Professionals, is a Board member of the Butler County Emergency Relief Initiative through United Way and is a member of her Parish
Council. Lori would welcome the opportunity to be re-elected to the Board to continue using her experience to the full extent. She would very much appreciate the opportunity to continue to be part of the decision making for the members of the Credit Union.

Ian D. Ferguson (incumbent) Ian has been an employee-owner at Penn United Technologies, Inc. for 20 years. As Medical Device Sales Engineer, he works with the Top 30 medical device companies in the world negotiating long-term manufacturing contracts for precision surgical and consumer medical devices. As Marketing Manager for all divisions of Penn United, he works with Penn United teams to market their excellence in precision manufacturing, community involvement, fiscal responsibility, recruitment and employee ownership. He and his family have been members of Armco Credit Union for over 20 years, and his father, Jim Ferguson, served on the Board from 2011-2017. Ian has volunteered for numerous local varsity and youth athletic programs, including football, soccer and track & field. He hopes to make the Credit Union a better place for its members and help guide the direction for young individuals, assisting them on their path to financial independence and responsible banking.

Michael J. Grabowski Mike retired in 2019 from his position of Director Operational Effectiveness at Thermo Fisher Scientific, after 54 years of employment. He enlisted in the US Army, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6) as an Airborne Ranger in 11 months, then attended the USMA Prep School and received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Pittsburgh. Mike has been a volunteer at the Butler County Humane Society since 2019, a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 6 from 2014-2017 and a Coach for Butler County Soccer Association from 1986-1994. He has been a member of Armco Credit Union for over 40 years and it has been a great relationship and support for he and his family. Mike would like to have the opportunity to volunteer, serve and support the credit union as a member of the Board of Directors.

James A. Hrabosky (incumbent) Jim is the Vice President for Administration and Finance at Butler County Community College (BC3) and has served in this role since 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University. Jim also holds a Master’s Degree of Education from Penn State University. He has over 30 years of experience as a finance professional, having spent 15 years in the banking industry before entering the field of higher education. Jim teaches at BC3 as an adjunct economics instructor and held the position as the President of the Pennsylvania Community College Business Officer Group. He has served on numerous boards in the Butler community. In addition to his current position on the Board of Directors for Armco Credit Union, he serves on the Board of the Alliance for Non-Profit Resources and also was on the Board of the Moraine Trails Council. Jim lives in Prospect with his wife, Lynn. He would be honored to be re-elected to ACU’s Board.

Edward R. Natali Ed has spent 38 years in business and industry. Ed is currently a Sr. Project Manager at Hatch Associates Consultants, Inc. He previously worked for 7 years at NLMK Pennsylvania, LLC in Farrell, PA and 11 years at Primetals. He began his career in the steel industry at Armco Steel Corp (now Cleveland-Cliffs), working 18 years in various Plant Engineering and Management positions. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Gannon University. Ed serves on the Board of Commissioners for Butler Township, since 2022. He served as the President of the Board of Elders at North Main Street Church of God, a member of the Board of Directors for the Butler County Symphony, a Pittsburgh Section Chairman and Board of Directors, Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, and on the Board of Director for the Butler County American Red Cross. Ed also served as Chairman of the Butler County Republican Committee. Ed has been married to his wife Julie for 38 years and have two children, Rachel and Caleb. He has been a member of Armco Credit Union for almost 38 years and loves the idea of a membership based local financial institution who is part of the community and not just a business. Ed believes his personal commitment to community service and the financial stewardship positions he held in non-profits align well with the mission, vision and values of Armco Credit Union.

Credit Committee

(1 to be elected for a full term, expiring April, 2027)

Cynthia C. Beblo (incumbent) Cindy retired in 2016 from Armco Steel Corporation/AK Steel/Cleveland Cliffs after 40 years of service. She worked as Product Information Analyst in the Manufacturing Planning Department. In years past, she was active in the Armco Women’s Club. She is currently enjoying retirement with her husband, Denny. Cindy has served on the Credit Union’s Credit Committee since April 1997 and would appreciate the opportunity to continue in this service.

Supervisory Committee

(1 candidate with the most votes will serve full term, expiring April, 2027; candidate with 2nd
most votes will fill Michael Kowal’s unexpired term expiring April, 2026)

Christopher J. Lunn (incumbent) Christopher is the Executive Director at Alliance for Nonprofit Resources and Nonprofit Development Corporation. He began working for the organizations as CFO in 2013 and was promoted to his current role in 2022.Previously, Christopher also held accounting and finance positions at the Center for Community Resources, Butler County Housing Authority and Lutheran Senior Life. Christopher holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Butler County Community College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, the Butler County Community College Education Foundation, Butler Cubs Athletic and Social Association and on the audit committee of St. Luke’s Church in Saxonburg. Christopher feels his fiscal background and knowledge is very beneficial to the Credit Union members, and he would welcome the continued opportunity to help ACU make a positive impact in our community.

Jerald L. Smathers (incumbent) Jerry retired in 2016, after 29 years, from his position as Chief Financial Officer at Penn United Technologies, Inc. He has an active CPA practice, specializing in taxes. Jerry graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1972 and has been a certified public accountant since May 1977, working in public accounting and industrial accounting for over 50 years. Prior to working for Penn United Technologies, Jerry worked for Armstrong Group of Companies, Schneider Downs CPAs and Kendall, Marsh & Company. Jerry has served on various boards, including Financial Advisory Committee to the Butler Area School District, Meridian United Presbyterian Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, Renewed Life Christian Counseling Services, Inc., Specialty Outreach Services, Penn United Technologies Employee Stock Ownership Plan and is currently serving on the board of Penn United Technologies, Inc. Jerry believes his 50+ years of experience is a benefit to Armco Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee and would welcome the opportunity to continue to serve.
